tunes for the trip

Bringing music on a long trip isn't really the question – how to bring the music is. Usually, the answer is simple – I bring my iPod, I have all my music. But, to such a far-out place, for such a long time, with such a precious little iPod that cost a ton, I didn't want to risk it.

Some friends suggested getting a cassette player for the road, & then make some tapes that I wouldn't mind losing – BRILLIANT! So, I stopped by the Stuff-Mart & found a wonderful surprise waiting for me there….CD players that cost $17 – BRILLIANT! With the case that will hold said player & 12 CD's, I can have hundreds of tunes at my fingertips w/ little worries about losing the whole thing.

Now….what to bring….

Can't go there without Keith Green's "So You Wanna Go Back to Egypt?" or Sara Groves' "Painting Pictures of Egypt." And to complete the tacky tourist groove, I'll probably include some selections from "The Prince of Egypt." (Actually, "Deliver Us" from that soundtrack isn't that bad a track…)
