Whoa-Dar

Ok, if you are ever in England and see a prancing pony…whatever you do … DO NOT verbalize a guess that the horse might be gay. First of all, hetero ponies have been known to prance, and those fabulous horses who might identify as "gay" better not hear you say the word "gay" or you will be thrown in jail.

Just say "whoa" to gaydar.

From Clive Davis quoting the BBC

A student who called a mounted policeman's horse "gay" will not be prosecuted, it has been revealed.

But police have stood by their decision to take Sam Brown to court for making "homophobic comments" despite the Crown Prosecution Service dropping the case. Mr Brown, 21, a student at Oxford University, had said to an officer: "Excuse me, do you realise your horse is gay?" Police took the case to court after Mr Brown refused to pay a £80 fine.

Mr Brown, who made the comment during a night out with friends in Oxford after his final exams, was arrested under section 5 of the Public Order Act for making homophobic remarks. His remarks were deemed likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. The English Literature graduate, from Belfast, spent the night of 30 May last year in a police cell.

Oh thank goodness he won't be prosecuted for … wait … doesn't England have freedom of speech too?

More from FRC

What some might dismiss as a "weird news item" is actually a frightening example of radical political correctness–in this case the absolutism that homosexuality must never be criticized in any way. While it is permissible to poke fun at other "lifestyle choices," as the following news item from England demonstrates, even harmless comments that can be construed as reflecting negatively on the homosexual lifestyle can literally get you arrested.

In one of a growing number of incidents in England where people accused of "homophobic remarks" have been investigated by the police, an Oxford University student who had the insensitivity to call a mounted policeman's horse "gay" managed to escape prosecution after spending a night in jail for his remark

Apparently the police considered Mr. Brown's comment to be a more serious crime than public drunkenness, for which he apparently was not charged. All this leads to the obvious question: Will citizens of the United States one day be arrested for the "crime" of criticizing homosexuality?

"Will citizens of the United States one day be arrested for the "crime" of criticizing homosexuality?" No silly, because we don't have any gay police horses! …at least in the don't ask don't tell sense.

Sorry I couldn't resist.

Please do not get all weird about the FRC wondering if we will be arrested in the States someday for disagreeing with homosexuality. Consider this little incident in England added to the fact that a Pastor in Sweden went through a lengthy and costly trial for saying homosexuality was a sin from the pulpit. Then add to that the Christian protestors in Philly (here in the states no less) who were arrested for protesting a gay pride parade. All they did was exercise freedom of assembly and speech on public property. They were hauled off in handcuffs and had to defend themselves in court. Sure they said things that I would never have said and probably would have challenged them on if I were there. Even so, the fact that they were arrested for speaking their mind is more despicable than anything they could have verbalized.

Yes, all of these cases ended up with the people walking free from further sentencing but the punishment was already imposed. They should have never faced a jail cell, court room and threats to their future welfare and freedom. Sure, yell back at them but to jail someone for speaking their mind is a terrible abuse of power. It sends a chilling message to those that don't tow the politically correct line that dissent, even in speech, is not tolerated by the gay thought police.

Sure, it probably won't happen here in America (again), but if we keep "sounding the alarm" people will keep talking about it and those in the gay identified community who say it will never happen here…now we have you on record. We will expect you to challenge any attempts to bring this ridiculous policy any further into the United States.
