Washington Briefing - Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) Breakfast

sears This one was at 7 am too! Man these people like to eat early. It was Saturday morning no less. I showed up on time and in a suit … miracles do happen.

Alan Sears is the white haired man in the picture. I took that picture at the White House Presidential address on the Federal Marriage Amendment in 2006.

The ADF is an amazing group. They along with other friends of mine who are lawyers bring a great sense of security when it comes to defending religious liberty in the court system. They have over 1,000 lawyers across the nation, have contributed $2 million dollars to allies that aren’t even with the ADF. Their number one goal is not money but to win. They have 140 full time staff working with their organization.

Here are my notes from the speech by Alan Sears, the President of ADF.

He mentions John 15:5 and says that it is “on our knees in prayer that we will win.

The ADF is involved with Politics, Pulpit and the Pew. Our country was founded by the hearts in our pulpits. Sidenote: we must resist every attempt to use foreign law to interpret our constitution.

Let us do good to all men and especially to those of the household of faith. Protecting the rights of everyone, especially the household of faith.

He mentions Galatians 6 and how we are to bear one another’s burden therefore fulfilling the law of Christ. Alone people feel powerless. ADF exists to help people feel empowered and strengthened. And Galatians 6:9 , let us not grow weary in well doing.

Then he gives more examples of different cases they have been involved with that are truly inspiring. I would encourage you to visit their website.

I really appreciate the ADF and all of their hard work. I have met many of their attorney’s around the country and I can honestly say I haven’t met a one I didn’t like. They have all been very professional, knowledgeable and … humble. YES you heard me correctly, I called a bunch of lawyers HUMBLE.

I am so very glad they are on our team. When Sears talked about empowering and strengthening the “household of faith” I can totally relate to that. When ADF, along with my other friends who are lawyers, came around I can honestly admit that I did feel empowered and strengthened. Looking at IRS forms causes me migraines, I couldn’t imagine having to go to court to defend my religious liberties if need be without this great group of lawyers. These folks would be the first group I would call.
