Tonight Dennis did a great job of leading a worship concert (as usual.) He is a very gifted musician and wonderful man.
He shared tonight that November 2nd was his 26 year anniversary of finding freedom from homosexuality through his faith in Christ. The concert was held at First Baptist Orlando and was also in support of the local Exodus group called Exchange.
The first time I ever saw Dennis sing I wasn’t even a Christian yet. That was over fifteen years ago. I was gay and not a believer and his testimony really kind of wierded me out at the time but I couldn’t deny the man loved God. Even wierded out I really enjoyed that concert.
Eventually, after coming to a saving knowledge of Christ and starting my own journey as a Christian, including out of homosexuality, the Lord used Dennis’ music to carry me through a lot of dark moments. As I grieved many different things (not just about sexuality, actually very little to do with sexuality) those first couple of years, Dennis’ ministry was like balm on wounds. Amazing stuff … lots of healing. Over the years when I need good worship music that reminds me of the faithfulness and beauty of God … I listen to His servant Dennis. ![]()
I am still blessed to receive the benefit of his ministry. Thanks Dennis!
