I’m curious as to where the author of that article got her figures from. She cites that 6 in 10 young Americans view homosexuality as a major problem facing the country, while this article would dispute that:

The vast majority of non-Christians — 91% — said Christianity had an anti-gay image, followed by 87% who said it was judgmental and 85% who said it was hypocritical.

Such views were held by smaller percentages of the active churchgoers, but the faith still did not fare well: 80% agreed with the anti-gay label, 52% said Christianity is judgmental, and 47% declared it hypocritical.

Hi Tyler…did you try to email the author of the article? I am not being weird … I am being serious. I email people who write articles all the time and sometimes they respond :). I’d like to know where she got that number too.

Also, I think, because of the title, it would seem that the article isn’t just about the stats. It seems mostly about offering alternative views of the role of homosexuality in a person’s life and how some of us have moved on from that life through love and prayer. The first statement says that Love Won Out is also upholding God’s creative intent for sexuality.

Sure the author included the stats and that they open the door for your comment. Not minimizing that at all and I appreciate your question very much even though I can’t answer it. That said, the stats seemed to be trying to set the environment for the main message of moving beyond homosexuality.
