Rejuvenated
***SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE***
My friends pick on me because I change blogs like I change clothes… daily (or so it would seem.) Sometime last November I felt like I needed to focus only on my facebook activities and then in the early part of December I really felt a strong leaning to quit blogging altogether. My friends will also quickly point out that I have “packed” up my gear and bugged out on blogging several times but I always come back.
And they are right. I always do.
I won’t get into the specifics but through prayer and meditation I got a good dose of perspective. This season of not blogging (a month now?) has realigned my personal perspective, motivations and priorities.
A “New” Blog
I have my old blog backed up and I am sure Google’s cache could serve up the old “Everyday Thoughts Collected” blog posts (1300+) easily. However, I am using blogger now and they don’t import old posts.
Why Blogger?
I have always trumpeted that Moveable Type, TypePad and wordpress are the absolute best blogging tools. Blogger (aka blogspot.com) would be my third choice. I chose this because one of my problems in the past was spending way way way to much time tweaking the background machinations and themes. I can’t (won’t) do that here. At the same time, I use many of the other google products already. Integrating this is a snap. Blogger has made upgrades and I am still learning about them but right now, the main point was to start over and this platform forces that to happen.
Content
I will continue to post about cultural and social issues. As well as entertainment and art. The posts won’t be as often but they will be more informative. Part of the reprioritizing requires that other things in life will come first. So, don’t forget to add this blogs rss feed and comments feed to your feed reader to keep up on what’s new. As for the the funky, weird and fun blog stuff… well there might be that from time to time but … that’s what I have facebook for now
(join there too and befriend me :)).
Thanks to all of you who have faithfully read my blog over the years. My hope is that you will continue to do so
*************UPDATE****************
