Blessing Upon Blessing

My wife and I have a bit of magical unhealthy thinking that we share. It kind of goes like this: begin to get suspicious when too many good things start to happen because some bad things are just around the corner.
This has become evident just recently as we purchased a home in beautiful Carlsbad. Not only did we get a screaming deal on the price, but this house has so much unrealized value. We bought the ugliest house in a nice neighborhood that needs some cosmetic updates. We are in the midst of remodeling it and things are just going great. We are ahead of schedule and about on budget. The best part is that we keep getting more and more pleasant surprises as we go.
For example, our house has a pretty nice view out of the back of the house. It sets on top of a ridge and the canyon view is just great. When we bought the house, 14 foot tall oleanders lined the back yard blocking off a large portion of the view. We have torn out most of the oleanders and now have some view from the dining room and kitchen and added a good 60 degrees of view from our backyard.
We also seem to be falling into some great relationships and deals. We bought some furniture at Costco and found a super-cool barbeque island on sale. We snatched it up and are really excited to start grilling in our new home with the great backyard and view.
So when all these little blessings come down in the shape of great deals, great timing, great relationships, great surprises we are uncovering, it seems that the question that comes up is “How can this be? Something negative must be coming up to put things back into balance soon.” But good things just keep happening. It has now spread to the job area and some other personal matters.
So we are learning that God wants to give us good things - no strings attached. That sure is a nice feeling.

It was great hearing you talk about this on the phone the other day. I am happy for you all! You also have my prayers to be able to enjoy the blessings as they continue to come.
You rock.
