Just Call Me Professor

God has really been on the blessing bandwagon in my life. First, my wife and I purchased a home in Carlsbad that needed a lot of work. We are about halfway through remodeling and it is going really well. Every time we go by to let someone in, check progress, or do some cleanup, we feel God’s love for us.

Now a new area of blessing has occurred. About a year ago I met with a fellow who was interested in what I have been teaching regarding Salt and Light ministries in churches. Basically, I have been promoting the idea of doing more than just reacting to “bad” legislation that pops up in state and federal legislatures. I think we need to be on the side of promoting good things and being pro-active in our communities to not so much win battles but be positive witnesses for Christ in the public square.

Anyway, Steve and I had a good meeting and talked a little about what he does. He is a professor at Azusa Pacific University’s extension campus in San Diego. APU has a program tailored for adults seeking to complete their undergraduate degree or achieve a Master’s degree.

A few weeks ago I received an email that APU had an opening for a part-time faculty and that they were interested in me! So I had a meeting with the Director and it looks like in a couple of months I will be teaching Leadership and Management Ethics. Wow!

I have always thought that teaching would be a cool thing and God seems to have dropped this right in my lap.
