There was another massive storm that swept the United States last week. By the time it hit mid-country it shut down almost all travel. This is at DC's Reagan airport today. The luggage was stacked like this through most of baggage claim.
Last week my boss and friend, Alan Chambers, stated that Exodus hasn't been focussed (recently)Â and will not focus on promoting public policy at this point and time. This is not really anything new. We havenât done any lobbying in almost a year.
But I digress.
So, I am going to DC for a number of reasons that have nothing to do with climbing Capitol Hill, brunching with the President or conspiring with Big Brother to ban the color "pea green" from the spectrum of light.
I donât have to conspire with Big Brother because I am Big Brother. Now you know.
As a private citizen I am very interested in public policy and will continue to speak into issues as I see fit here on my personal blog (which has always been very clear between what is personal opinion and what Exodus has stated in the past.) That said it is nice to visit friends in DC to talk about Exodus and what our goals are for 2008.

This short post struck me as interesting and made clear to me the catch-22 that you must find yourself in. Like it or not, many churches (mine included) with a traditional, orthodox sexual ethic will not have a thing to do with Exodus because you are perceived as a group of “right wingers” with a political agenda .
Having read the blogs of some of Exodus’ staff (yourself, Alan and Mike, namely)I realize that, while they are your personal blogs and reflect nothing of Exodus’ policies, you all are pretty conservative in your politics.
Randy, you have every right to write about politics on your blogs, but you must be aware that your readership is wide and, like it or not, your writings DO come across as representative of Exodus. Yeah, its unfair that you can’t “distance” yourself from your organization, but that is the price of being in the public spotlight.
Anyway, as long as you and your counterparts continue to talk politics, specifically as it relates to LGBT issues you will be giving ammo to those who seek to destroy Exodus

I am sorry that your church, if your view is accurate, hasn’t seen the totality of what Exodus is about. Maybe I could send them our information and ask our Church Network Director, Mark Schumacher, to talk with them. Feel free to call the office (407) 599 6872, with that information. Mark would be glad to contact your Church leadership and answer any questions they might have.
I think my post pretty much states what I want to say at the moment. Thanks for letting me know your opinion. I appreciate it.
