Last week a friend said something that really made me think. I was remarking about how life has really drastically changed, time scheduling wise, in the past three weeks. There has been a major re-prioritization of goals and objectives in my life both professionally and personally. His response was, "welcome to the new normal." That really stuck with me.
Offline relationships, health goals, work goals, what I get energized by… all of that has been shuffled around and I am noticing that blogging has taken a back back burner to a lot of other things that I feel compelled to work on and relationships to enjoy. I love this blog and I have gone through weird seasons with it in the past. I have started and stopped more blogging "sabbaticals" than any sane person should even try to explain … but … this time I have a definite time frame and I am going to ask for accountability to keep it.
So, from now until September 1, I am going to put the brakes on this blog. If more articles or interviews are published I will update the "Articles" page. I will also continue on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr but will reserve writing for larger articles. I even have a couple of book ideas churning around
.
If interested, the one portal for all my "other" online activity is a service called Friend Feed.  You can leave comments there as well.
Anyway, most of the regulars here at the blog are also connected at the other sites so… I will definitely see you there. If you are a regular or a visitor just passing through…feel free to leave a comment or contact me with whatever is on your mind.
Much love and peace to you.
Now… go see me on facebook and twitter

I’m proud of you for making that hard decision, Randy. Others of us who are slow to blog on our sites have less worthy reasons for our procrastination. So do what you have to do. May God help you use your newfound time wisely!
Thanks Nick! I think the longest I have gone through blog withdrawal is one month…going a little over four months… well… it’ll be a miracle
.
I find your lack of blogging disturbing.
Soon, you shall discover the true power of the blog side of the force.
::: laughing ::: Well… I think I do know the power of the blog side of the force or I wouldn’t have failed at so many blog sabbaticals in the past
.
Not this time :!
I wonder why so black and white. So on or off, blog or not blog, it seems and I may be wrong, but it appears like you only have a limited number of options to meet your needs. Why not “hey, I will blog when I can or when I am compelled, but I got this other stuff I wanna do…”
I like your blog. It is on my reader. I just wonder why so black and white on blogging. What happen to gray?
Well, I think I need the break and September 1 is what I came up with in regard to coming back to regular blogging.
What do you like about my blog?
Again, why do you like my blog?
I like the perspective. We don’t agree on many issues, but I have enjoyed reading about your stories of the trainer, photos, the many stories of you and the people you’ve met on planes. I also enjoy the art.
I don’t always agree with the stuff you write, but how boring would it be if everything I read was stuff I agreed with.
Hopefully, I have answered your question.
Thank you Joe. very cool, thanks for answering. You need to comment more on those other things
.
I would be happy to do that, but I have a tendancy to be pretty quiet. Some might be surprised to know I am a pretty quiet person who does always have much to say.
