Last week’s Exodus Freedom Conference themes were obvious: “A New Day,” loving God first with your entire being and loving your neighbor as yourself and of course issues concerning homosexuality, identity and relationships from a redemptive Christian perspective.
On a personal level I really felt affirmed by the Lord on a few things that I was seeking direction from Him on. I am still trying to work it all out in my head and heart :).
Overall, there was a great sense of peace. While there were a few hiccups (logistics and those “detail” things), the staff were able to do their jobs and accomplish their various goals. I can’t say that this conference had any less opportunities for stress, even so, the conference went along very easily. There was an overarching sense of peace and joy.
Obviously, our opponents (primarily one opponent) tried everything to wrest away attention and focus it on himself. It didn’t work. I got three “blog alerts” from google that were the usual formulaic attacks . They generated some traffic from those sites to my blog and flickr account. Response? 1) I am not that scary and 2) thanks for the traffic.
If you have surfed in here from one of those sites, I promise, I don’t have fangs or deep pockets beholden to some nefarious “religious right” puppet master. My role as the Monopoly Tournament Coordinator and Brain Chip Tester is completely voluntary.
Regardless of how you got here, you are welcome.
Back to the point, this has been one of my favorite conferences. It was a lot of work but to see the blessings during and after … it’s all worth it.

UPDATE: Well, I write all that and something comes up trying to drown out those peaceful memories. Nothing public and not something you would even really care about unless directly involved. But nevertheless, it isn’t fun. :( Even so, that doesn’t negate what I felt during the conference and the lasting effects of the conference.
UPDATE on the UPDATE: Things are working out great! Still some road to go but … total turnaround today. Thanks for praying!
