Economic Bail Out Blues

The more I learn about the bail out the more I don’t trust Congress to be able to pull off something that is actually in the best interest of the people. I saw Pelosi’s statement on Sunday and while she used the word “bi-partisan” a lot she certainly made it sound like the Republicans wanted a blank check and it was up to the Democrats to protect the people’s interest.
yeah … sounds all to familiar … oh wait … she says that about everything.
How much money did the Democrats receive from these now failed corporate giants through lobbying and campaign gifts? Just as much or more than the Republicans would be my guess. Those Wall Street fella’s knew how to play both sides of the fence pretty well … apparently. Long term Democrat leadership aren’t any more innocent in this than anyone else. According to this video it was the Democrats bad planning and refusal to heed warnings that got us into this just as much as greedy CEO’s and fellow Republicans who turned a blind eye.
The American people *deserve* a full investigation and FULL disclosure. The Media might have a chance to reclaim their professional objectivity by digging in and pulling out the truth no matter who it drags out of the smoke filled back rooms of Wall Street. For some reason I don’t trust Dodd and Barney Frank to investigate themselves.
Even if mistakes were made out of good intentions, let’s admit it as such before the American people are having to pay off their leader’s debt and corporate irresponsibility.
If we get stuck with this 700 Billion dollar bill … all of Washington DC should be very worried this November and probably even more so in 2010.
