Ann Coulter on Biden’s Big Debate Blunders

Ann ::: shaking head ::: Ann Ann Ann … (thoughts after the jump)

If Sarah Palin had made just one of the wildly inaccurate statements smugly uttered by Sen. Joe Biden in last week’s vice presidential debate, there would have been 3-inch headlines in newspapers across America. (I can almost hear Katie Couric asking me, “Which newspapers?”)

These weren’t insignificant errors, such as when Biden said, “Look, all you have to do is go down Union Street with me in Wilmington or go to Katie’s restaurant or walk into Home Depot with me where I spend a lot of time, and you ask anybody in there whether or not the economic and foreign policy of this administration has made them better off in the last eight years.”

It turns out that Katie’s restaurant, where Biden gets his feel for the average American, closed 20 years ago. The only evidence that he spends any time in Home Depot is that it appears that a pipe wrench fell on his head one too many times.

First off Ann, dear, it’s not nice to make fun of a man’s hair plugs or imply brain damage. But for some reason I think you know that.

The article goes on to document serious foreign policy mistakes that Biden made. The unfortunate part is that Biden … lauded and picked for the Obama ticket because of his long run in foreign policy experience … is so completely off with his answers that they are just flat out scary.

Scary for a man wanting to be a “heartbeat” away from the President.

He goes hyperbolic comparing the financial costs of the war in Iraq with Afghanistan. He says we kicked Hezbollah (a terrorist group and puppet of Iran/Syria) out of Lebanon (they are still there.) Ann documents all that and more.

Another unfortunate part for me personally is … I totally missed these mistakes during the debate! And I keep up with politics like some guys keep up with sports! I don’t want to be arrogant here but I would guess that most Americans didn’t catch these mistakes either.

Ann did.
