Shhhh… My Staycation Reading List

by Randy Thomas on July 24, 2009 · 0 comments

So, recently I met with one of my favorite bloggers who is also a fellow “doom” person.  I told him he had to read The Fourth Turning and he said I had to read One Second After.  I just got his book in hardback for $5.98!

I love cheap apocalyptic reading.

I am also reading City of Thieves, Christian Disciplines, The Bible :-) and The Supremacy of Christ in a Postmodern World.

Are you a reader?  What are you reading?

yep, always reading. The bible, The Everyday Visionary, and The Beloved Disciple. I love the saying, “When your not reading, your not growing”. I like your choice of reading.

I just finished Love is an Orientation: Elevating the Conversation with the Gay Community by Andrew Marin. Too bad you couldn't have stayed in Chicago an extra day and checked out his ministry-The Marin Foundation in Boystown. And I just ordered John MacArthur's book titled, God's High Calling for Women. BTW I didn't have any problem following you after that first day. Loved the pictures too but not sure of who everyone was. I didn't go but hope I can come to a conference in the future. It was good to finally see Terri Brown, as I have only talked to her over the phone and emailed her too. Also congrats on your walk out per prior post.

If you enjoy earlier works, read the works of A.W. Pink or Jonathan Edwards over the internet, these men were very discerning and wise.

Oops. I'm not reading anything but junk this week. Trying to get through John Sandford's “Wicked Prey”. I'll improve my mind and grow my spiritual self next week.

:::laugh::: Let's hope the pre-tribers are right!A workation is when you work hard at something totally different from what you normally do. I was helping prepare meals for 111 people. A lot of fun and a lot of hard work!! I'm afraid the kitchen staff was louder than the campers on several occasions:)

I'm just finishing Proverbs and starting a Douglas Coupland season. Got several of his books off t'internet (Northern way of saying The Internet, although I speak proper, not like them across t'way). Yeah, Amazon does some books for 1p (lowest unit of UK money). You guys have Amazon, don't you? And a few good magazines (we don't have many here in the UK, but I've searched and found. Trying to find my fave national paper in this town is hard going!)
