It's Not a Muslim Thing, Is It a Mid-Life Crisis Thing?

Major Nidal Malik Hasan who murdered and wounded all those people yesterday in Fort Hood is 39.

Jason Rodriguez who went on a shooting spree in downtown Orlando today is 40.

What the heck?

I remember commenting here that turning 40 was odd but I never wanted to go shoot anybody. Approaching mid-life was weird and there were dark times along the way but the Lord has proven to be the Savior, Redeemer and Prince of Peace in all those situations.

I pray the men who perpetrated these horrible crimes find earthly justice and eternal forgiveness before they die.

Today when they interrupted normal programming, and did the emergency announcement broadcast, the hair on the back of my neck literally stood up.  It’s just a really weird sensation.  It happened yesterday when I was driving home and heard about the Ft. Hood shootings too.

I don’t want to ever have that sensation again.

I wanted more beauty to come to the blog and the last two days have been horrible (news wise.) I am going to start looking for the beauty that is bound to rise in spite of these tragedies.  If you know of any good articles highlighting the First responders or the lives of the victims… please feel free to leave links in the comments or just send them to me.

Good will always win in the end.
