Ok, So Ft. Hood Shooting IS an Militant Islamic Thing

by Randy Thomas on November 9, 2009 · 4 comments

As more and more details emerge about the Ft. Hood shooter, Hasan, he was definitely trying to align with militant Islamic extremists.  One of these militants, his former Imam, is calling Hasan a “hero.”

I think he is a coward looking for a “righteous” reason to not have to enter into battle.  In fact, all terrorists are cowards.  They are cowards by using deception to kill innocent people in evil ways.  They are cowards by then killing themselves to not have to face earthly consequences and skip right to the promise of heavenly virgins.

I know God loves everyone and will forgive these people of their sins and restore them to the place of being everything they were created to be if they would turn to Christ in faith and repentance.  And I will pray that they find Him while their future terrorist plans are thwarted, innocent lives are saved and they face earthly justice.

But today, they are cowards. Let’s pray that tomorrow they are brought to justice and find God’s mercy.

Wow, strong language.  Not an often seen item on your blogs. Nice change of pace.  As for the shooter, he has his justice already.  sad.

::: Scratching my head ::: … ok.

As for the shooter, he has his justice already.  sad.

That he got shot four times? I think he has to face a lot more justice here on earth. 13 counts of 1st degree murder and 29 counts of attempted murder. In Texas, he will get the death penalty.  Maybe I am missing your point about him already receiving justice.

Nope…lotsa extremist muslims in the US – they seek to infiltrate and integrate, not pull some kinda go-out-in-a-blaze-of-glory conflagration.
Here’s a quick sketch of the behavioral profile for a mass-shooter:

Social Alienation, not just isolation – desires acceptance from specific sources but often is denied due to marked deviance
Victim Stance  - a: believes he’s being persecuted – and might be but not in proportion to response;  b: externalizes responsibility for mistakes/failures onto others or larger social structures;  c: “grudge list” – preoccupation with the “causes” for his disappointment, frustration and failure
Exposure to chronic stressors over which he feels little/no control
increasing recognition of own ineffectiveness to create changes he deems urgent in his own environment
6. Catastrophically inadequate coping skills – often with intermittant substance abuse that causes problems/violates own morals (“fraud”)
7. Absence of emotional support structures due to loss – ex: death, estrangement, or relocation
Escalating hopelessness and resignation
Obsessive revenge fantasies that “settle the score”
Access to semi- or fully auto auto weapons.
Trigger within last 90 days that “forced” an ultimate showdown
Consistent inability to assimilate into highly-structured, inflexible social systems/environments, but may be able to mimic casually brief social appropriate interactions to complete tasks

My hunch is that he’s probably been seeking acceptance into both the mainstream Muslim community on base and what he saw as the “inner circle” of Islamists online. Bet he was rebuffed or ignored. That would have been intolerable to his malignant narcissism.  Add to that the spark of recent orders to deploy?…That was like backing a rabid animal into a corner.  I also suspect he recently self-prescribed some anti-depressants, which would have allowed him to organize a plan and (finally) accomplish something to justify his pathetic miserable bitter existence.
In short, while extremist doctrine might have been gasoline on the fire, linking him to some grander jihadist conspiracy plays right into his self-delusion. His murderous narcissism screamed “look how significant I am!”
I say…”meh, not so much.”

if you do not drown your faliures and sorries in alchol or drugs
your frustaration will come out of your system some way
not justifying what he did..
when forced into a corner and you do not like the results
you kick your way out of the corner screaming and kicking
may be prayer did not work either
