These the pictures from today. I went to Best Buy but didn’t take any pictures there. And I probably should have because it was CRAWLING with people. ALLL over the place. When I went in there was a HUGE mountain of $99 flat screen monitors. It was down to 7 when I left.

I totally wanted to buy one but my inner dialog went something like this, “WOW! What a GREAT DEAL! REALLY decent resolution even though I have NEVER heard of the manufacturer! But, Randy you have no reason to buy one … but I really wanna’ … no … I have ZERO need for one. But I could FIND a reason … no you can’t. YES I could … no … shut up and leave.”

I left.

When I went out to the mall, it really wasn’t that bad. If it was a normal day, it would be bad … given that it is Black Friday, I expected it to be a lot worse than it actually was.

Of course I ended up talking to people. In the set featured, I snapped the picture of a family and am going to email it to them (more about the family in a minute.)

As a result of that family portrait picture, the surrounding kiosk people (all extroverts of course) and I started talking. I asked if they had been busy and all of them shook their heads. Then one, who wishes to remain anonymous went on a little bit of a rant about how it was slow but, “YOU won’t see that on the Local Fox Station!” Then he went on to describe how the WOFL crew had people lie down on the ground and act like they had been there all morning. Then he said they did some crazy stuff to try and get people to clump together to make it look like it was really crowded really early. I haven’t watched any of the WOFL footage and of course this is third hand information but … why is it easy for me to believe that local news would try to stage news?

Back to the family, because their picture is included in the above set I won’t get all into their business. But the father was real appreciative that I would take their photo with a camera instead of just his camera phone and email it to him. Then he shared with me some really personal information about his family. I was a little taken aback and my heart broke a bit. He just told a stranger why the picture was very important for him. I felt honored but sad. Every time I see the picture I will pray for the family and ask that you do so as well.

Back to happy moment.

Do you just love my blog theme? I love it. I named the background photo, “I am in your ornaments … taking pictures.” Verra fun.

OH and about the $5.88? That’s what I spent at Chik-Fil-A for lunch :) . I didn’t buy anything in the name of “Black Friday.”

Merry Black Friday folks.

Hey Randy! Enjoyed your post AND the fabulous photos. Good for you, not succumbing to the sales. We’re just kicking back here at home, avoiding what we thought would be CROWDS and CROWDS. Nice of you to take that family’s photo – I’m gonna be praying for them. Blessings on your weekend, friend.

I hope you had a great relaxing day avoiding the almost but not quite bad crowds.  Thanks for praying for the family.

Yeah, it’s the family in front of the tree.  Pretty easy to figure out.  Thanks for praying for them.
