Screen Cleaner

I have been fighting “something” since last weekend.  My thought is that it is allergy time (that’s what I am praying it is anyway.)  Today has been pretty rough with the sneezing and sniffles.

I posted to Twitter (which auto updates my facebook status as well) that I had sneezed four times in a row and needed a squeegee.

My friend Mindy sent me the following link as an online substitute for a squeegee.

After visiting the above link, not only was my screen MUCH cleaner… I all of sudden felt much better with a big grin on my face.  Thanks Mindy!

I wasn’t kidding …

From Travel

… when I said that for some reason God has me sit near the most interesting people when I travel … I meant it. The guy in the photo above gave me permission to take his picture by the way. This was on the flight from LAX to Orlando. He has purposefully shut out sight and sound. He has a blanket and a neck pillow (because you can never have too many pillows.) He also has a set of head phones resting on his stomach so he can have the option of watching the movie or not. Dude packed a picnik basket of fruits and trail mix. He warned me to not turn on the air vent because that is what makes you sick with the recycled air.I didn’t ask him where he thought the fresh air was going to come from for the next five hours.

AND he timed the time it took for the plane to lift off after the engines fired up. For the curious…42 seconds.

There are a few pictures from today’s travels so click on either picture and it will take you to the rest of them.  My favorites are of the fog but, I was mesmerized by the topography all the way from San Jose to LAX.

Chasing the Sunset - Flying To San Jose

Today I flew from Orlando to San Jose through Atlanta. I parked my car at a place just down the street from OIA. The shuttle picked up another gentlemen after me who had a very nice car.   Not inordinately expensive but still quite nice. I have no idea what kind of car it was but I liked it’s style. As he scooted by on the shuttle I blurted out in my unabashed extrovert way, “groovy car.” He said, “Thanks, it’s the last one ever made, I flew to Minnesota to pick it up.”

I smiled and said, “wow” nodding my head. Something in me just didn’t quite believe the story. Plus my head was hurting and that makes me grumpy.

Fitness Friday #3

This week of exercise has been great.  I have been able to slightly increase my weights and cardio time.  I feel a little better in my clothes.  My metabolism is a lot better, I feel better over all and even my friend who said I was a fatty said I looked like I had lost some weight.  It’s been very good to get back in the exercise swing.

Things were going so well I knew that when I weighed in I had to of at least lost 3 or 4  pounds.  Maybe even five.

1

One single pound.  I could have picked up that stupid scale and thrown it into the spa thing.  After I calmed down (it only took a few seconds)  I realized that scales were simply pawns of satan and I have permission to hate them until I actually lose some significant weight.

Ok, that was a little bit of jest.  While it was not fun to only see one actual pound knocked off the total … I feel, physically a lot better.  I really do.  Honestly, that is more important because I know that I will get to a healthy weight at some point If I just keep pressing through.

Like most things, I have to learn to find joy in the journey … the end results will take care of themselves in whatever timing that means for me.  If I keep doing better and right things good results (whatever that may mean for my body) are inevitable.

That works.

Look at this! I had fun making pretty graphs in google docs

Weight Loss Goals

This week was fun.  I gained a notch on my belt … woot.  I am getting used to the equipment … yay.  The only thing I am not getting used to is the one guy who feels the need to rap about gangsta b*ches in the locker room.  He’s really loud about it too.

I think that type of misogynistic muzaq-shizza is completely unnecessary while I get out of my sweaty t-shirt into my drive home t-shirt.  I would have asked him to shut up but … I am trying to get fit so I can live longer.  It would kind of defeat the purpose to be taken out by a hater.

Speaking of really stupid lyrics; Snoop Dogg’s newest “Sensual Seduction” is one of the worst most stupid songs I have ever heard.  I know as a Christian, I should try to find some way to empathize and encourage but … that song is just a laugh out loud waste of time.

Sorry Snoopy.

Mr. Clean War - Part II

MRCLEANEarlier I posted about the bad experience I had with a trainer at the new gym. I will now refer to him as Mr. Clean instead of The Angry Trainer because he looks just like Mr. Clean .. except for the white eyebrows…and he wasn’t angry today.

So, as I have been getting acclimated to the gym, I have been avoiding Mr. Clean. It’s been pretty easy because there is like a million, maybe two million people at this gym. I don’t have time for “All My Trainers” drama.
However, as chance would have it, I completely had to talk to him and be nice even. Here is how it all started.

I was doing one of the abs machines (crunches). The machine next to me was also abs but it was one that twists your upper torso to get at those love handles. Well, the poor man on the thing was obviously a new newbie, not like me … a lapsed Mr. Olympia. He clearly did not know that you are only supposed to work one side at a time. This guy was going all Maytag on the machine at like… 900 mph. He was killing himself and smashing the plates every time he over extended.

I rejoined a gym a few weeks ago but this is the first full week of exercise so I just took down my weight and figured out a work out to start with. So this week I don’t have a status update.

I have broken my weight loss goal into three actual goals and I will provide percentages of how far I go each Friday along with other thoughts for the week.  First update on weight loss goals will be next Friday.

However there is more to this weeks post.
