Comments
First time comments are held for approval. After that your comments should go through automatically unless the spam filter is triggered some other way. Pretty much anything that doesn’t include p*ornographic imagery, disgusting language or spam is acceptable. No spammers … No comment trolls (people only commenting for the sake of causing trouble.) Everyone should receive civil and thoughtful dialog even when we strongly disagree.
Also, the comments belong to and are the sole intellectual property of the person who made the comment. Please do not assume that I agree or endorse anyone else’s view because I let it stand.
Since this is a privately owned publication, I reserve the right to edit in part or in whole any comment. I also reserve the right to delete comments at will.
Comments via the Contact Form:
You are always welcome to send me your thoughts . Because of time constraints and boundaries, I am rarely able to respond to emails. Please do not take it personally. There is a slight chance, unless you tell me otherwise, that I might respond to your email via my blog. Again, lack of response from me is about my schedule and offline life … not you. However, there is a reason I have a contact form… I want to know what you are thinking.
Trackbacks
Trackbacks are “pings” sent from other blogs referencing particular posts. It creates a link in the comments section to the other blog so that readers here will know that this other blog has something to say on the same subject. Trackbacks are a wonderful tool in the blogosphere that help bloggers feel connected to each other in this vast cyber world. At the same time, spammers and trolls know how to use this tool as well.
The same type of parameters for comments apply here. There is only one additional caveat. It is an expectation in the blogosphere that any trackback sent to another blog must have a link to the trackbacked post also embedded in the post. If you want to trackback posts on this blog you must also link to my post in your post. Don’t ping without linking. It’s a blogosphere no-no. I will be merciful to newbies…and even oldies
but will delete trackbacks that don’t have direct links if the person doing it is a repeat offender.
And one more thing …
The software I am using to block spam is really very good (Akismet) but it often snags legitimate comments and holds them for moderation. Even if you are a regular on this blog, you might get caught up in the Aksimet filter. It doesn’t happen often but often enough to just give you a heads up. I will fish the comment out as quickly as I can.
I am not, by default, usually difficult concerning comments and trackbacks. I hope you find this a good place to hang out and have good conversations on interesting topics.
