Pat Robertson Creates Worldwide Distraction and Consternation

What can be said at this point that hasn’t already been said?  For context, Pat stated that the Haiti Quake was because the country made a pact with Satan to earn its independence. Danny Glover ties the earthquake as a response to the lack of action out of Copenhagen’s Global Warming pow-wow.

After the fact armchair prophesy, which this is … not exactly trustworthy.

I thought about writing about this personally but there are a lot of really good responses to Pat’s statement already out there.

Pray For Haiti – Relief Resources

Picture credit goes to AP via FoxNews.com

Watching the horror unfold after yesterday’s devastating earthquake has been breathtaking.  It’s times like this that you see the good in humanity. Everything gets put in better perspective as we focus on rescue and aid to our hurting brothers and sisters in very dire circumstances.

Many bloggers, facebook and twitter folk are compiling many links to various resources seeking to help out in Haiti.  Of course the most common I have seen is the Red Cross.

The Anchoress, a very popular blogger has compiled a great list of ways to help Haiti. So has Michelle MalkinFox News has also compiled a list of reputable organizations.  Musician Wyclif has always been involved in helping Haiti and has his own outreach through his site at yele.org.

I am watching for other Christian resources arise … there are a lot of them … but please add any prayer requests, reports or links to ways to help in the comments.  I will update this post too.

UPDATE:
Just found this on the Desiring God Blog

More About That Mid-Life Crisis Observation

On Facebook I got some feedback from some folks that they thought the title of my last post, “It’s Not a Muslim Thing, Is It a Mid-Life Crisis Thing?” was going to be a refutation of some sort of liberal excuse to not blame the shootings at Ft. Hood on muslims.

I hadn’t even thought of that (liberals blaming aging men instead of muslims) when I was posting about it.  It was just an observation I thought was worth noting.  I actually started noticing this over the past few multiple shooting tragedies.  Not all, but enough to notice, it seems that the men who perpetrated those acts were around this age.

Now granted, I think the miltant cultural strain of Islam is totally a part of what Major Hasan was influenced by.  No doubt about that.  But my inner-sociologist wants to interview these men while they sit in jail for the rest of their lives.  Not to make up pc liberal excuses, but to discover any possible way to help other men who might be in similar situations before they do something horrible.

That’s not a liberal thing to do is it?  If it is I guess I am liberal in some ways :)
